Quenching World Water Scarcity

Is there enough drinkable water to meet future global needs? Is water a US national security issue and will twenty-first-century wars be fought over water? Can economically struggling countries develop without sustainable access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation? Does everyone have a right to clean drinking water or should it be treated like any commodity? What is the state of water infrastructure and can business and scientific innovation create new sources of water? Today’s global and local water challenge requires innovative and interdisciplinary solutions. This class will study, analyze and investigate these questions to better understand the options and solutions to the world’s water problems.  Individual and team projects will develop critical thinking, writing and presentation skills.
