Alexia Gardner is a sophomore in the American University honors program studying international relations. Born in Hong Kong to British/Australian parents before relocating to a ski town in Utah, Alexia has been interested in international politics since a young age.
Last semester Alexia interned at the Woodrow Wilson Institute for Scholars with Air Force Colonel Eries Mentzer, studying Air Force retention. Alexia’s research involved looking at how family policies shape the decision of senior level officers, particularly women, to leave the Air Force. Alexia hopes to focus on women’s issue in the realm of international affairs.
In her free time, Alexia loves reading historical fiction, skiing, and arguing about philosophy with her brother.
