“In general, the GBV prevalence rate in one country is similar to the prevalence rate in neighbouring countries. This might be taken as support for the assumption (underlying this paper) that differences between prevalence rates in Appendix reveal genuine differences between countries, rather than being purely due to different methods” (Simister 611).
This quote, although more factual, uses language to correlate two points based on assumption using a scientific format. This syntax implies a lot of uncertainty, although the point seems clearly valid to the author. I thought this was an interesting way to address a point of unclarity in a more scientific document.
