Innovative Imagery
The following imagery, used throughout the website and project, has been designed to reflect and enhance the work.
River Image
The River Image is an abstraction of the Potomac River and the road running alongside it, which together connect the River Road communities.
Colors
Burnt Red
The burnt red color represents the red clay of the Macedonia Moses cemetery, and is inspired by a wall at the Museum of African American History and Culture.
River Blue
River blue represents the Potomac River as well and the baptismal waters which run past the Scotland AME Zion Church.
Gold
The gold is shared by both the Baptist and AME Zion churches, and in this case represents connection between the Scotland and Bethesda Macedonia communities.
Logo
The pentagonal logo represents the original homes and places of worship which were built along the River Road corridor.
