Ido Leidner, Student Coordinator

Ido Leidner is a Combined BA/MA degree track student at the School of International Service. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in International Affairs Policy and Analysis (IAPA) and a bachelor’s degree in international studies with specialization in Foreign Policy, National Security, Peace, and Conflict Resolution in East Asia with an Additional Minor in Asia, Pacific, and Diaspora Studies.

Ido has served as a policy analyst and assistant researcher in several think tanks specializing in China and Indo-Pacific engagement with the Middle East, and has been involved in American University’s Abdul Aziz Said Peace Scholars Program and the International Relations Society. Outside of the Initiative, he also hosts a weekly Radio Show at the university’s student-run Radio station.

Ido’s interests include Indo-Pacific security dynamics vis-à-vis China and the US, Defense Diplomacy, maritime security, emerging technologies, international intelligence, Grand Strategy, conflict Monitoring, Indo-Pacific and Middle East relations, and Asia-Pacific multilateralism.
