Consent & Release Agreement

By signing below, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrator and assigns, I do hereby agree and will absolve, release and hold harmless American University, its employees, students, officers, agents, successors and assigns, singularly and collectively, from and against any injury, harm, loss, inconvenience or any other damage of any kind whatsoever, all liability or legal responsibility which may result from or arise from the acts, or be connected in anyway to my participation in activities or that I have authorized or consented to herein or in the AU Recording Studios (“Session”).

I understand that although American University supports the Audio Technology Program, it does not assume responsibility for any loss, injury or damage to person or property in connection with use of the facilities and/or equipment associated with this Program outside its direct use for educational purposes defined by the Provost’s office.

I understand my participation is strictly voluntary and at my own risk to person and property. I understand that AU bears no responsibility for safeguarding my property and makes no guarantee as to the quality of my work product. I will conduct myself in a safe and prudent manner while using AU facilities and equipment, and will be responsible for damages or loss due to any fault or negligence on my part.  I agree to the provisions set by American University on personal use of university supplies, equipment and facilities referenced in the Faculty Manual (section 26d), Staff Personnel Policies (section 10.0) and Student Policies.

I hereby authorize and grant AU consent to audio record, film and/or photograph my likeness, voice, conversation, sound, including performance of any musical composition, dramatic performance, and/or biographical information I may provide in association with the above Session (“Appearance”).

I further grant AU all rights and permissions necessary to record, produce and distribute the Session containing my Appearance, and to otherwise license others to use any or all of my Appearance. I understand that American University (or any person or entity it may license the Session to) shall have the right, but not the obligation, to telecast and/or otherwise exhibit the Session, or any advertising, promotion or publicity containing my Appearance in all media, now known or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity. I understand that American University or its licensee may edit the Session, including my Appearance for use as it sees fit.
