Hi, I’m Britt Jacovich!
Let’s talk about academics…
I’m a 19-year-old sophomore going to school at American University (AU) in Washington, DC. I’m originally from Watertown, CT.
I am currently double-majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies: Communications, Law, Economics, and Government and Public Relations and Strategic Communications. I’m also pursuing my Certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies through the School of Public Affairs (SPA) Leadership Program. Currently, I am a teaching assistant for the SPA Leadership Program and have the pleasure of assisting 52 freshmen as they adjust to their freshmen year of college. More specifically, I am responsible for guiding a group of six freshmen as they collectively create their own social action project. I’m also the Executive Producer of ATV News, the student-run broadcast channel on campus. Additionally, I am a Peer Advisor in the AU Career Center. On a daily basis, I assist students in enhancing their resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn pages, and networking skills.
…What do I do in my free time?
I’m very passionate about social issues, specifically gender equality, education inequality, LGBTQ+, and racial injustice. When I’m not scrolling through my twitter feed to get the latest news from David Fahrenthold of the Washington Post or Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, I’m normally watching my favorite shows on Netflix, reading various books, or bingeing podcasts. I’m also an avid sports fan and have been cheering on the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Lakers with my two brothers and dad for as long as I can remember.
I love my college and the city, and I can’t wait to use this blog to talk more about them both and show people a little bit more about myself and academic experiences.
Thanks for reading and enjoy my page!
