Each person lives a different life filled with different values, different backgrounds, different adventures, and different experiences. Experience is something that is both different for each person, but also something that holds certain similarities from one person to another. There are many experiences in one’s life that can be extremely similar to someone else’s. This section explores the various experiences that authors share with their readers. While sharing their experiences through fiction or nonfiction, they become more relatable and personable to their audience. This allows the reader to feel involved in the story and to want to know more. I found experience to be a significant element I look for while reading anything; when someone’s experience is shared with me, I feel a connection to what they are sharing whether that is because I can relate to their experience or because they are “opening up” to me, the reader. Experience is important to share with others through text or otherwise for this very reason: connection.
