About Me

Welcome, I’m Brittney Revan. I am one of six children and was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I am Hispanic and Black, and among the first generation to attend college in my family. I’m a first-year college student in the School of Public Affairs at American University currently studying Political Science and Communications with a certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies.

Ever since I was a young child I loved debating and I always tried to talk myself out of situations; my parents would always tell me “Brittney if you do not become a lawyer one day it will be a waste of your talents”. I would just smile and forget about it until one day I decided to do extensive research on the career and in 8th grade I fell in love with the profession. I began honing my skills and taking part in many activities relating to law in order to strengthen my fervor for it; I also attempted to reduce the list of specialties I am interested in pursuing. I would like to become a lawyer and eventually a judge in order to drive changes in mass incarceration reform, education reform, and immigration.
