This source talks about the Progression Place building that states which stores are at the location and where. Also, the source gives information about the offices and their locations in the Progression Place.  This page also explains how the building is still under construction. The apartment building inside of the Progression Place called the 7th flats are also mentioned.  It is also stated that the Progression Place building is approximately 2,000 square feet, and the rental rates are at 50% of market rate.

This source can help me envision the construction of the place and its interior. Also, it details how everything while is set up inside of the building. This source connects to my first source as well, which is useful to compare information from both sources. Also, since this source comes from the “Washington DC Economic Partnership” it is a reliable source that will not contain fictional information about the site.

Castaneda, Ruben. “4 SLAIN, 2 HURT IN NW CLUB.” Washington Post. The Washington Post, 25 Feb. 1990.             Web. 05 Oct. 2016.

This article states that police forces searched for suspects that created a murder scene since two were left dead in front of a Nightclub called “John’s place”. Apparently, the murderers were looking for a specific man called “Robert Lee” who at the time was 20 years old.

This source is useful as research because it has detailed information of one of the crimes that occurred in front of ‘John’s Place”. What makes this source most important is that the author is Ruben Castaneda himself, the same author of the book “S Street Rising”, which is where I got the location from. I can compare the scene that occurred in the book with the scene described in this article from “The Washington Post”.

Wheeler, Linda, and Wendy Melillo. “D.C. Market Shooting Kills 1, Injures 8.” Washington Post. The Washington Post, 01 Apr. 1994. Web. 02 Oct. 2016.

This is an article which states and describes a criminal action that occurred in the area of 1700 7th St NW, exactly in front of John’s place. The area located three blocks away from John’s place has been referred as an area where drug trafficking occurs. The drug trafficking incident seems to not be related to the crime that occurred in front of John’s place, where four people were killed and two were injured.

This source is useful since it contains and describes information that will help me develop and untangle the history of 1700 7th St NW. It is a reliable source because the information comes from “The Washington Post”, where true information is posted as news for citizens in Washington DC; it does not contain bias opinion, just facts that occur.  Also, the source’s authors are stated clearly.
