My name is Conchita Garcia. I was born and raised in York City, Pennsylvania though I currently reside in Washington, DC. I am a graduate from American University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies: Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, Government; a minor in Justice, with a concentration in Terrorism and Security Studies, and am certified in Advanced Leadership Studies.
My interest and passion lies at the intersection of immigration and security policy. I aspire to play a part in shaping the national conversation regarding immigration; understanding the risk that comes with large flows of migration, but also being empathetic to families and communities fleeing violence.
I am currently a Program Specialist at the Department of Homeland Security and plan to further my career in public service in the field of national security.
