Final Commonplace

In honor of summer, I am dedicating this last common place book post to my hometown favorite Mexican food, Rubio’s. ┬áRubio’s is a California begun Mexican food chain that is located throughout California. What is interesting about the logo is they changed it for the first time about a year ago to the logo above. It used to look like this:

Rubio’s changed two huge things in their marketing logo. First off notice the font change and the capitalization in the old logo compared to the new logo with a lower case “r.” The new logo also says “Coastal Grill” instead of “Fresh Mexican Grill.” It seems that the logo change has attempted to create a new and more mellow vibe at Rubio’s, or should I say rubio’s.
