Money Matters


This course is designed to teach students how individual choices directly influence future earning potential, long term financial well-being and personal happiness. It integrates economics, accounting, psychology and personal finance concepts to help students of all majors make informed financial decisions and better understand the implications of economic events. The course will provide the critical skills needed to make sound personal financial decisions within a social and institutional context. The finance skill development will be balanced with considerations about happiness and contentment. Topics will focus on the tradeoffs between instant gratification and long-term well-being through products such as: saving, investing, borrowing, insurance, retirement planning and the development of future financial plans.
