Creative Opportunities

At AU you can perform every semester! Performance opportunities are listed below. 

Performance opportunities are open to all students regardless of major or minor. The majority of performance opportunities require an audition or registration in a dance course.

CHOREOLAB

A workshop for student choreographers. The CHOREOLAB choreographer application will open again in August 2018.

AU Dances

A twice-a-year performance of the work happening in our Embodied Knowledge classes.

DANCE WORKS

Annual Spring Dance Concert: Mainstage performance featuring the American University Dance Company (AU/DC). Auditions for the American University Dance Company will be held on Saturday, December 2 from 12-2 PM. Registration for the AU/DC audition is open now here. 

American College Dance Association Conference

Each spring, some of the cast from AU/DC also travel to perform at the American College Dance Festival. Attendance at ACDA is dependent on casting decisions.

Estimated cost $300 for housing and transportation. Students are responsible for providing their own meals.
