We’re full. If you’ve already signed up, we’ll write to you soon concerning whether we have room for your child. If your child is interested, but you haven’t signed up yet, then you can still sign up to get on our mailing list to receive advance notice of our future offerings.
Fall 2023: We’re meeting in person!
This fall, we will operate on Thursdays from 6:30 to 7:30, starting September 28 and ending November 16. Sign up if your child is interested, whether or not they are able to participate this semester. (Getting on our list gives you advance notice of our future offerings.) We can’t wait!
Parents of admitted students will be given our precise meeting location, which will be on the American University campus.
[On our website, you’ll find some release forms and such. Don’t worry about them yet, as we still need to update them.]

Spring 2021 DC Math Circle Registration is Open
Hello and Happy New Year! We have exciting news – DC Math Circle will return for Spring 2021! We plan to have five virtual sessions on the following Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 PM ET: February 9, February 23, March 9, March 23, and April 6.
Registration is open and space is limited, so please register soon and only if the student(s) you are registering will be able to attend most sessions. Please register by following the link here. Just as a reminder, DC Math Circle is designed to bring together students who are excited about mathematics to solve challenging problems and not designed for remediation. You can review more about math circles and our program here.
We will follow up with all registered students early next week about collecting program forms and donations, or to let you know the student is on the wait list in the case that the program is full. If you have a student who is unable to attend this semester but is interested in future offerings, please fill out the registration form and let us know this.
Looking forward to another great DC Math Circle season!
Jaime, Jeff, Michael, and Abby
Stay tuned
Although we did not publicize them here, we held pop-up online events in June and October. Thanks to all who participated, and a special thanks to our session leaders: Amanda Burcroff (Cambridge University) and Mean Michael Keynes (American University). We don’t expect to hold any more events this semester, but we’re hoping to ramp-up our activities somewhat in the spring. In the mean time, the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival and mathcommunities.org continue to offer online programs.
Closed for COVID-19; online opportunities are out there
As our regular participants know, we shut down for the season in early March due to safety concerns. Although we are not presently equipped to operate a program online, opportunities are out there. For example, the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival now offers a weekly webinar via Zoom. They meet on Thursdays, and in order to accommodate kids around the world, they have three sessions: 7:00am; noon (in Spanish); and 7:00pm. Each week’s activity is introduced by a video that’s posted a few days in advance. See more information on their front page, or register.
