the information from Chapter 1 of your textbook and the Scholastic Reads podcast by considering whether you agree or disagree that reading is a civil right. You will share your point of view as if it were a Tweet. Twitter is a growing and influential channel for communicating, connecting, and building a professional network. Twitter and other social media platforms can be used to advocate, educate, inform, and influence public opinion. Teachers can create a professional digital presence on social media to share their point of view and interact with diverse groups. I&#8217;m already starting to panic about sending them off to college in a few short years, but friends keep assuring me by the time they graduate, we&#8217;ll all be ready for some separation. 2) I love collecting recipes and finding new restaurants, but I don&#8217;t like the term &#8220;foodie.&#8221;\u00a0 I recently had a chance to eat at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosesluxury.com\/\">Rose&#8217;s Luxury<\/a> and believe me when I say, that place is not overrated.\u00a0 Two words:\u00a0 Flavor explosion. 3) I&#8217;m passionate about literacy and helping kids become great readers and writers and accessing all that literacy affords.\u00a0 I miss the daily interaction with elementary students and honestly am a tiny bit jealous that some of you will be in classrooms for your practicum this semester.\u00a0 Kids make me laugh and they give me hope.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m excited about teaching this course, and without sounding too much like a contestant on the Bachelorette, excited about taking this journey with you!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to American University EDU 455 and 601.\u00a0 I am Jody Hagen-Smith, the instructor for this course.
