Research Assistant

  • Studied the induction and maintenance of chronic hyperglycemia in zebra fish using a non-invasive stepwise alternate immersion procedure
  • Oversaw fish maintenance and survival
  • Induced hyperglycemia in zebra fish by gradual introduction of 1%, 2% and 3% mannitol and glucose solutions
  • Sampled fish every 2 weeks that included: taking blood glucose levels and ketone levels, dissected the fish in order to retrieve the retina and lenses and monitoring the behavioral patterns of the fish
