The Warner Theatre has seen many different political climates, especially by being a popular theatre in D.C. The Warner Theatre has always been on the right side of history by hosting performers of all genders, sexual orientations, and races. They experienced some backlash by having their main performers, the Roxyettes, open for an all African American band. Unfortunately, they didn’t let the dancers open up for minorities for a few years after this “outrage.” Politically speaking, the Warner Theatre has stayed pretty liberal and allowed mixed race audiences. The politics of the time were put to the side for generations to let all types of people enjoy the art on their stage.
