Hi! My name is Erin Swartz and I am currently in my senior year at American University. I will graduate from AU in May 2018 with a BS in biology and minors in public health and statistics. I am also a member of the Division I women’s volleyball team at American University. While at AU I have served as a TA for biology lecture and lab courses, and volunteered for various outside organizations all while maintaining a high GPA with a demanding training, game, and travel schedule for volleyball. Additionally, I work in a lab helping a graduate student with her research on drug treatment of ALS in zebrafish. After I graduate from AU I hope to enter graduate school in a genetic counseling program. I believe this career path would be a good fit for me as it would allow me to combine both my passions of science and genetics and helping others.
