Project themes should cut across at least two areas of interest to the Open Society Foundations. Among these are human rights, government transparency, access to information and to justice, and the promotion of civil society and social inclusion.

Fellows are expected to take full advantage of the foundations’ expansive reach and work to bring new people and fresh ideas into the organization’s ambit. Successful projects should push the boundaries of current thinking and carry lessons that can be applied to a variety of settings. Fellows may produce a variety of work products, including publications such as books, reports, or blogs; innovative public-education projects; or the launch of new campaigns or organizations. Visual, film, and video artists may apply to come for either one or two semesters. In the event that they come for one semester, the stipend is $38,750. Fellows are expected to be free of their regular commitments so that they may devote themselves full time to the work outlined in their proposal. Since this is a residential fellowship, we expect fellows to reside in the Boston area during that period and to have their primary office at the Institute to participate fully in the life of the community.

Arts

Journalism

Humanities

Natural Sciences

Physical Sciences

The deadline for individual applications in the creative arts, humanities, and social sciences is September.
The deadline for individual applications in the natural sciences and mathematics is October.

8 Garden Street
Byerly Hall
Cambridge, MA 02138
Tel.: (617) 496-1324
Fax: (617) 495-8136
Email: fellowships@radcliffe.harvard.edu (humanities, social sciences, and creative arts)

sciencefellowships@radcliffe.harvard.edu (natural sciences and mathematics)

[4,93,2,94,74,3

post-244","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-arts","category-arts-general","category-humanities","category-humanities-general","category-journalism-humanities","category-social-sciences
["GET
https://edspace.american.edu/facultyfellowships/2018/09/27/princeton-university-center-for-human-values-laurance-s-rockefeller-visiting-fellowships/
Princeton University Center for Human Values: Laurance S. This program aims to help create an energetic, multi-faceted research environment for the Humanities at NYUAD’s campus. To this end, NYUAD is annually inviting applications from distinguished senior scholars as well as from promising junior scholars for residential fellowships at NYUAD’s Institute. Fellows are contributing to NYUAD’s intellectual community through research and research-related activities, including sharing their work-in-progress with NYUAD faculty and students and participating in scholarly networks engaged in ongoing research centered at the NYUAD Institute.

While open to scholars working in all areas of the Humanities, the program aims in particular to build a center of outstanding research capacity in areas of the Humanities that are relevant for the study of the Arabic world, its rich intellectual, religious, and scientific history, its cultural and artistic heritage as expressed in traditional and new media, and its interaction with other cultures in the past and present. Scholars of Arabic culture and history will find it enriching to work alongside fellows who conduct research in related and adjacent fields.
