I am currently a senior at American University majoring in Law and Society with a concentration in social sciences as well as in an rigorous 3 year BA program pursuing a certificate in Politics, Policy and Law and a program focusing on Leadership Development Theory and Practice pursuing a certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies. I am originally from Long Island, New York where I live with my parents and close relatives nearby.
Since my start at American University, I have continuously worked towards my passion for public interest and advocacy while developing the necessary skills to go to law school post-grad and pursue a career in the legal field.
Over the past three years at American University, I have taken advantage of the many opportunities that the SPA Leadership Program and AU as a whole has to offer. In the Leadership Program, I am a second year TA where I mentor and guide a group of students through their social-action projects in topics including (but not limited to): immigration, changing legislation, and school art funding.
Outside of the Leadership Program, I am the President of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. Phi Alpha Delta is comprised of like-minded people who have a passion for law. In PAD, we not only prepare people for law school through various LSAT prep course presentations but also prepare those who do not do not want to go straight to law school by conducting and engaging in several networking events.
Outside of academics, I am an intern at the American Bar Association Commission on Immigration where I work with detainees and help them not only know their rights but are also their advocate and voice. In my free time, I love exploring DC and what it has to offer, hanging out with friends, and writing articles for HerCampus, a student media organization at American University.
