A.J. Ajiboye


A.J. is the President of The Graduate Consulting Group. His knowledge of expertise spans across real estate, public health, commercial research and development, and apparel; however, there is now a special focus on real estate finance and development. In 2014, A.J. began building òL, a New York-based apparel startup. He was able to use his wide range of skills to take a business from an idea to a globally recognized brand known for excellence. He now consults small businesses in the Washington, DC area. A.J holds a B.S. in Public Health from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Rachel Devadas


Rachel Devadas is the Executive Vice President of The Graduate Consulting Group as of February 2016. Prior to joining the Kogod School of Business she worked as a Pricing Analyst for three years. Rachel is responsible for working with the President to build GCG’s brand and ensure that members are provided with a wide breadth of professional opportunities. She successfully completed her undergraduate degree in 2011 from the University of Maryland majoring in Economics.  Post MBA, Rachel plans on working in the consulting industry, with a healthcare focus.

Fiza Ali


Fiza Ali is the VP of Finance for The Graduate Consulting Group since February 2016. Prior to joining the Kogod School of Business she worked as a Senior Financial Analyst for two years. Fiza is responsible for the funding and budgeting of the Consulting Club. She successfully completed her undergraduate degree in 2011 from the University of Texas majoring in Finance and Business Administration. Before joining the AU community, Fiza was a mentor at Medrano Elementary, and involved in various charity works such as; Helping Hands of Dallas, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and pro bono financial consulting for the community at Plano Convention Center.

Russell Cox


Russell Cox is the Vice President of Marketing for The Graduate Consulting Group. As a professional, Russell has valuable public and private sector experience. He worked for 5 years as an Academic and Financial Administrator for Berkeley College, advising prospective and continuing students on their admissions, course work, and financial aid packages. After that stint, Russell served for 5 years as a Firefighter/EMT-B for the City of Richmond Fire Department and Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.

Most recently Russell worked for Nationwide Financial as a summer intern, consulting the Individual Products and Solutions organization on portfolio management and process improvement. Russell currently works as an Independent Contractor/Consultant for The Department of Commerce, in the role of Analyst in the DOC BIS OTE internship program.

Amanda Pekar


Amanda Pekar began serving as Co-VP of Professional Development for the Graduate Consulting Group in February 2016. In her role she helps coordinate internal events in partnership with KCCD to help GCG members’ efforts applying to and interviewing for consulting jobs. Amanda is a full-time MBA student at the Kogod School of Business with an interest in consulting related coursework including strategy and project management. Prior to pursuing her MBA, Amanda worked at a strategy and research consulting firm specializing in corporate responsibility and sustainability, and stakeholder relationship management. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 2013, from the University of Miami, with dual majors in Political Science and International Studies, and a minor in Modern Languages, focusing on Spanish and Mandarin. In addition to her role in the GCG, Amanda enjoys being an active member of the Kogod Women in Business and Net Impact clubs at AU.

John Ampiah-Addison


John is the Co-Vice President of Professional Development for The Graduate Consulting Group. He is responsible for engaging American University graduates in pro bono consulting projects in the Washington DC area. He has experience in small business consulting, finance and entrepreneurship. John holds an undergraduate degree from American University in Economics. His long term goal is to pursue a career in alternative investments.

Sam Schofield


Sam is a member of the full-time MBA class at Kogod.  He will be working at the State Department as a budget analyst beginning this summer through the remainder of his MBA program.  He has strong interests in political economic issues and protection of US economic interests abroad.  After his MBA program he is hoping to work in the private sector in advisory services supporting U.S. companies with market entry strategies and negotiating political risks abroad.  Originally from New Hampshire, Sam has a B.A. in International Affairs/Geography from the University of New Hampshire and previously spent seven years working in Boston, first for an international education company where he consulted educators on building educational tours abroad for their students.  He later spent five years working in business development for an international NGO focused on sustainable development and conservation for rural communities in Central America and Mexico.

Michael Chan


Michael Chan is the VP of Programing for The Graduate Consulting Group since February 2016.  Prior to joining the Kogod School of Business he worked as a Scientific Consultant in the Washington D.C. area for seven years.  Michael is responsible for securing fun and interactive consulting focused events for American University graduates.  He successfully completed his undergraduate degree in 2008 from the University of Mary Washington majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Business Administration and Mathematics.  Before joining the AU community, Michael was a mentor for Best Buddies and is involved in various charity works such as Students Helping Honduras and the Rackers Center.
