About: Hypothes.is is open source annotation and discussion software. It allows users to add private or public annotations to any online text.

For our Class: We use hypothes.is (h.) in this course in several ways: 1) I will comment on your essays and other class work using h. To see my comments, toggle from “Public” to “[Our Class Group].” We also use h. to annotate all of our class readings. Everyone will need to make at least one annotation on every reading. You can also earn bonus points for annotating your own reading by noting “writerly” moves–TS/IS, strong topic sentences, well-framed quotes, and so on—in your own reading outside of class.
