Make sure you have access to your course materials offline and at home, or test your access to them soon.
If you do not have a computer at home, bring your American University computer home.
Check to see that you have a webcam (or some other mechanism for recording) and a microphone (many headphones have this capability as do many laptops).
Test all of the tools you plan to use (like Kaltura and Blackboard Collaborate) prior to a potential closure.
Communicate to your students about your expectations of them prior to a potential closure. What are the policies that will be affected by a potential closure? Consider clarifying attendance policies, participation, paper submission instructions, exam instructions, etc.
