Hello! I’m Isabel Zayas. Welcome to my e-Portfolio page!
I’m originally from a small suburb within Connecticut outside of New York City. I’m an only child, but I like to think of my three cats as my long lost siblings. My favorite artist is Matisse and my favorite singer is Elliott Smith. Another fun fact is that my father also attended American University in the early 1970s, and I am the only legacy I have met on campus!
Throughout my high school career, I have tried to make a difference in the lives of those suffering from mental illness. At American University, I hope to continue this trajectory by creating my own major within the School of Public Affairs, entitled Social Justice and Advocacy. In addition, I would like to continue my volunteer work with under privileged populations through different extracurricular activities on campus, such as the Peer Health Exchange.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this short introduction!
