This article emphasizes the radical notion of the importance of happiness in feminism. Jill Filipovic writes about the importance of equality no only int he workplace, but also the importance of contentment and working towards happiness in life. She asserts that the struggle for true equality may be ongoing forever, but the closer we get to happiness, the more close in equality we become.

This theory really makes me think. Where millennial women have been raised to understand they are at a disadvantage, and they have to fight for equality at work, white millennial men are largely unhindered by the social constructs of gender and have much more time to focus on work and their happiness. And I see this largely in my own life also. Sometimes I get caught up in the idea of trying to equalize the wage gap and working harder, all while still fitting into social standards of being female, and I forget to take some time to myself.

So, I urge millennial women to consider being happy while of fighting for the equality of women. Because I think one of the purest forms of equality is the right to pursue your own happiness.
