About Me

Hi there! My name is Josee and I’m passionate about human rights, immigration, women’s rights, and social justice. My experience ranges from domestic legislative work both as an intern on Capitol Hill and the Maryland State House to international human rights work in Madrid at the Spanish Pro Human Rights League. I also have a background in strategic communications and graphic design for various publications, on-campus groups, and political organizations.

I am studying Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government at American University in Washington, D.C. in the Politics, Policy and Law Three-Year Scholars Program. I am working towards both a minor in Spanish and Certificates in Spanish Translation and Advanced Leadership Studies.

On campus, I work as the Program Coordinator for the Politics, Policy and Law Program and serve as an AU Ambassadors. I also design for the student publication, AmLit Magazine and love to sing with my acapella group, Treble in Paradise.
