As part of the SPA Leadership Program I worked with a team of six people to address the lack of political efficacy among marginalized people. We worked with Running Start to bring a “Running for Office” clinic to AU. (Spring 2017)
Along with one of my sorority sisters, I had the chance to attend the USIP event on women as peace builders with Afghan First Lady Rula Ghani.
As a member of the AUSG Women’s Initiative, I worked with the Kennedy Political Union and Muslim Student Association to bring the Nobel Peace Prize winning activist, Malala Yousaifzai to campus. (Fall 2017)
I attended a private event at the World Bank headquarters on youth and global development (Summer 2017)
I attended a discussion at the US Institute for Peace on community level peace building. South Sudanese peace builders discussed the strategies they had implemented within their communities. (Summer 2017)
As a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Beta Rho chapter, I helped plan and implement our fundraiser for My Sister’s Place (D.C.’s oldest women’s shelter). We successfully raised nearly $8000 this year. (Fall 2017)
