American University Campus

I am a sophomore in American University’s School of International Service. I plan to specialize in National Security and the Americas region. Post undergrad, I hope to go to law school. I love to learn new languages and travel. Other passions of mine include sleeping, spending too much time in coffee shops, and scary movies.

This website will both track and display my research on religious extremism over the course of the coming year. Middle Eastern terrorist groups are often associated with religious extremism, but Christianity, which is widespread in Central and South America, can also be associated with violence and terrorism. The Knights of Templar, a ruthless cartel in Central Mexico, are even classified as a Christian group. I find the link between culture and violence intriguing, and plan to explore different factors of religion in terms of terrorist groups.
