Tavaana Intern, Tavaana: E- Learning Institute for Iranian Civil Society, Bethesda, MA              January 2018 – Present

  • Research Indian, Pakistan and Jordan women’s rights movements and honor killings to write 3 case studies to post on Tavaana.org
  • Compiled data reports and graphed most used social media platforms in regard to the Iran protests

Orientation Leader (OL), American University, Washington, D.C.                                                               January 2018

  • Collaborate with 2 OLs to guide an international student group of 5 around campus for a tour
  • Worked with 2 OLs to identify visa status and to direct 550 international students to their designated tables

Preschool Teacher Assistant, Roshan Learning Center, Jakarta, Indonesia                                         July – August 2017

  • Supervised 9 preschoolers in a refugee based learning center in teaching Indonesian through games, reading, and arts and crafts
  • Conversed mainly in Indonesian along with English and some Farsi, if needed, in preschool class as well as to the staff and to the parents
  • Designed student identification cards by using Google doc and Microsoft Word and collaborated with the administrative team on the development of the cards

  • Managed group meetings of 7 members by brainstorming ideas for events and awareness of the gap between American and International students
  • Co-managed social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube to spread the awareness of similarities between different groups
  • Advertised and distributed flyers, brochures, signs along with the use of a mascot costume around campus
  • Collaborated with various parties such as the Health Center, Student Life Center and European Club to raise awareness and promote inclusivity to bridge the gap
