What’s Open Access?
Open Access (OA) describes the online, free-to-register, public access to the scholarly journal literature that has until very recently been only available to the reader through subscriptions or affiliation with an institution that pays subscription fees.
Why Open Access?
Such “subscription-only” access significantly reduces the possible dissemination, impact, and engagement between scholar, funding institutions, and the public that ultimately funds the research endeavor.
How the Library Can Help
The University Library is providing funds in order to encourage faculty to publish their work in high-quality open access publications. In order to ensure quality while supporting research from all AU disciplines, the journal in which your work will be published must meet certain criteria.
