My name is Samantha Frank and I am a member of the American University Class of 2020. As a student, I express a love of learning and am dedicated to academics. After I earn my BS in Public Health and a certification in Advanced Leadership Studies through the School of Public Affairs (SPA) Leadership Program here at AU, I plan to attend graduate school, either to study Speech Pathology or obtain a Master of Public Health (MPH). My passions include community service, debate, politics, biology, and working with children, specifically those with special needs or learning disorders. I enjoy being an active and engaged member of the AU community, and I do this through participating in a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities. This year, I serve as a teaching assistant for the SPA Leadership Program, the Vice President of Philanthropic Service for my sorority, Sigma Kappa, and the treasurer of the Catholic Student Association. As a freshman, I also served as the designated note-taker for my writing class through the Academic Support and Access Center for students with learning disabilities. I also speak fluent German, and learned to do so after living in Germany for six years. During my college career, I am eager to make a positive impact on campus by promoting inclusion and making an effort to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe. I want my fellow students to love AU and make it their home, just as I have.
