Meet the 2017-18 Executive Board!
Kristina A. Biyad | President
Kristina Biyad is a second-year SIS graduate student in the Global Governance, Politics, and Security (GGPS) program. She received a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from the Feinstein College of Arts and Sciences at Roger Williams University. Kristina began working with GSC as the GGPS Program Senator in the 2016-17 Academic Year. During her time with GSC, Kristina served on the Events & Planning Committee where she dedicated a substantial amount of time to planning and executing the AU SIS International Affair Gala at the Embassy of Indonesia. Outside of AU, she works as the Communications & Development Officer for the International Association of Women Judges, a nonprofit organization promoting human rights and equal justice through judicial systems around the world. Prior to this position, Kristina worked as a part of the Advocacy Team at Share Our Strength No Kid Hungry and as part of the Foreign & Security Policy Group at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office at the British Embassy.

Rabia Uddin | Treasurer
Rabia Uddin is a second-year SIS graduate student in the Global Governance, Politics, and Security (GGPS) program, with a concentration in Global Governance. Rabia is scheduled to graduate May 2018. Originating from Greensburg, PA, she speaks English and Urdu.
Jahangir Ghassemi | Chief of Staff
Jahangir “Jahan” Ghassemi is a first-year SIS graduate student in the Global Governance, Politics, and Security (GGPS) program, with a concentration in Security. Calling Oklahoma City, Oklahoma home (see what we did, there?), Jahan grew up in Tehran, Iran. Jahangir is projected to graduate May 2019.
Kiara Colon-Torres | Communications Director
Kiara “CT” Colon-Torres is a first-year SIS graduate student in the Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR) program, with a concentration in US Foreign Policy. As a US Air Force veteran and full-time government contractor for the US Air Force, Kiara attends American University through the International Relations Online program. When she isn’t performing her communications director duties for GSC, she is filling the role as President of the American University International Relations (AUIR) Online Student Forum. As a full-time student, employee, wife and mom, she spends her (lack of) spare time napping.
Natasha Boychenko | Alumni Relations Director
Natasha Boychenko, is second-year Masters student, at AU’s School of International Service GGPS Program. She is thrilled to be working on GSC Exec Board with the wonderful SIS Alumni, bringing exciting and meaningful networking opportunities to SIS events throughout the year. Growing up in Los Angeles, California she has been actively involved in internationally focused clubs, organizations, and community service. She is eager to pursue a career analyzing security and foreign relations, and interns as a Research Assistant at the Eurasia Center.
Joseph Espinoza | Community Development Coordinator
