Iroquois Springs Sleep Away Camp Summer 2021
- Was responsible for the supervision and safety of a group of 8 children for the six-week summer program as a bunk counselor.
- Selected as a leader along with other counselors to run a 3 day event while also managing the location and assignments of about a quarter of the camp.
SPA Leadership Program 2020-Present
- Selected to study and develop leadership skills through advanced practical training and by implementing social action projects in local areas of need.
- Researched access to mental health resources during COVID-19 and currently executing a social action project to disseminate resources to parents in the DC area during the 2020-2021 academic year.
Government Internship- County Legislator Josh Lafazan Summer 2020
- Drafted a policy memo on food insecurity on Long Island.
- Engaged in online discussions about local, national, and international news and policies.
Political Campaign- Legislator Lafazan Autumn 2019
- Worked to raise awareness and support for a local legislator’s re-election campaign through phone-banking and neighborhood canvassing.
ACTIVITIES
AMERIMUNC 2020-Present
- Currently, an Under Simulation Director tasked with manning 15 staffers and organizing a simulation for 5 committees.
- Wrote character bios and crisis overviews for a background guide for a committee on Catalonia.
- As a Simulation Coordinator, worked to improve communication between delegates in various committees as well as in the assigned committee to enhance the interconnected simulation.
Jewish Student Association 2020-Present
- Working as a member of Freshman Committee to help plan various club events for the University.
Model United Nations 2016-2020
- Leadership roles: President (2019-2020), Co-President (2018-2019)
- Led weekly meetings, planned the agenda, developed topics of discussion, mentored newer members, and helped team members prepare for conferences.
- Participated in 12 local/regional conferences representing different countries in various committees.
- Awards included: 1 Best Delegate and 3 Honorable Mentions
DECA 2017-2020
- Placed first in the New York State competition for the Financial Team Decision Making event with a partner and was slated to compete at International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in 2020.
- National Finalist in the Franchise Business Plan event at ICDC with a partner and placed second at the New York State competition in 2019.
- Placed first at the New York State level competition and had the honor to represent Syosset High School at ICDC in Atlanta, in 2018, in the Principles of Finance event.
Karate 2007-Present
- Earned a junior black belt in 2017 following years of dedicated work and commitment. Currently working on the adult Kenpo system where I earned my adult brown belt in 2020.
