Tyler Jacobs is a Senior at American University in Washington, D.C. in the Schools of Public Affairs and Education, respectively, pursuing a double major in Political Science and Secondary Education in addition to a certificate degree in Advanced Studies of Leadership.<\/p>\n

After eighteen years of calling Northeast Massachusetts home, in his time at American University, Tyler has remained incredibly committed to both his academic and future professional life, but also to his social life and building long-lasting, meaningful relationships. Aside from his initial love of \/ interest in government that brought him to AU, his passion for education, leadership, and the law grew – becoming a strong influence on his college career.<\/p>\n

In his first year of college, Tyler represented his graduating class in the AU Undergraduate Senate – campaigning on the issues of student health\/healthcare, diversity & inclusion, and administrative responsiveness. As his term in the Senate ended, Tyler became heavily involved in Greek Life. As an active member of the academic and leadership-focused social fraternity, Beta Theta Pi – he has served in the roles of VP of Risk Management and VP of Education. More broadly, Tyler has also been an active presence in the greater Fraternity & Sorority Life community – where he most notably served as the President of the Interfraternity Council, the governing body of all 14 social fraternities on campus.<\/p>\n

Having a deep love of continuous learning, it is no surprise that Tyler has also experienced continued success in his academics. All the while, his interests continued to broaden; over recent years, he has especially grown interested in constitutional law, students’ rights, sexual education, and political\/social theory. As Tyler works to complete his undergraduate degrees, he is aiming to complete a Master’s degree, teach, go to law school, and eventually work in education policy and\/or educational law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
