Journalist, David Rohde, was captured by the Taliban back in 2008 while he was doing research for a book about Afghanistan. He was held by almost the same people as Bergdahl, except Rohde was more aware of what was going on because (1) he wasn’t blindfolded all of the time and (2) he was kidnapped along with two other Afghans Asad, a driver; and Tahir, a translator.

Sarah Koenig has a conversation with David Rohde comparing his and Bergdahl’s experience. Towards the end, there are clips of Bergdahl speaking about the unspeakable torture he endured.
