This shot shows the direction that I came from, facing the Judiciary Square Metro Station. The building directly to the left is actually a church, in an area surrounded by government buildings, which I found particularly interesting. It looks nothing like a church, but more like a prison, yet it’s nestled comfortably between the District Attorney’s Office and a federal courthouse. I found it particularly interesting how little nature there was in this area as well. For an area that apparently is a “square,” and, according to Google Maps, has a park, there are very few trees. Though it is February, I would still assume there would be more foliage considering there is a large grassy area in the middle of Judiciary Square. The only color in the entire vicinity really came from the presumably freshly planted flowers in front of the building.
