Ksenia Novikova

Ksenia is a sophomore studying Political Science and Communications. Her interests include campaign finance, education reform, and all things Brooklyn.  On campus, Ksenia is involved with the SPA Leadership Program, Civics in the Capitol, and the Russian Speaking Jews club.

Drew Meseck

Drew is a Sophmore in the College of Arts and Sciences studying Economics and Computer Science. He is originally from Louisville, Colorado, a small town outside of Boulder. Other than Democracy Matters, he currently works for the university performing strategic data analytics. His hobbies include golf, game theory, and getting money out of politics.

Jake Raimer

Jake is a sophomore studying Film and Media Arts as well as Graphic Design. He is an award-winning environmental documentarian who has developed relationships with his local elected officials, even interviewing them in his work. Most recently, Jake served as an intern with the American Resilience Project. On campus, he is a member of the multimedia department of AWOL Magazine (American Way of Life), an investigative publication, and with Democracy Matters through their communications team.

Michael Karlis

Michael Karlis is a second-year student from Boston. He is majoring in interdisciplinary studies (Communications, Law, Economics, Government), and Journalism. Other than working for Democracy Matters, Michael is also part of Model United Nations and is an Editor for AWOL Magazine, a student-run publication. When Michael isn’t studying or promoting democracy, he enjoys museum hopping in Washington, traveling the world, and long walks on the beach.

Tiffany Gilligan

My name is Tiffany Gilligan and I am a sophomore studying CLEG. I am from a small town in Upstate New York called Newark. I am very interested in politics, criminology and law, and dance. I also love going on adventures, and I have a love for nature.
In addition to my involvement with Democracy Matters I am also involved in the SPA Leadership Program, the AU Dance Team, and Alpha Kappa Psi: Professional Business Organization.
Professionally, I have interned for New York State Senator Pamela Helming and worked at Banana Republic, The Terrace: An Assisted Living Community, and DC Reads.
I am an energetic and outgoing person, and I am very excited to be involved in Democracy Matters! Let’s make change!

Lobbying

Stephan Abarbieritei

Stefan is a sophomore Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics and Government major at AU who is passionate about productive policy, especially campaign finance reform. Outside of class and Democracy Matters, Stefan is a chocolate enthusiast, runner, and dog parent.
