Mission Statement, Goals & Objectives
Mission Statement:
Our program will encourage the women of Delta Gamma at American University to consume fruits and vegetables by providing hands-on skill building and nutrition education. The improvement of diet quality and nutrition will promote positive health outcomes while preventing the risk of obesity and noncommunicable diseases.
Goals:
- Increase daily consumption of fruits and vegetables among the women of Delta Gamma at American University.
- Increase self-efficacy by improving basic knowledge of preparation and cooking skills among the women of Delta Gamma at American University.
- Prevent the development of obesity and noncommunicable diseases in the women of Delta Gamma at American University.
Objectives:
- During the next six weeks, 20 American University students in Delta Gamma will participate in six zoom sessions improving their preparation and cooking skills.
- After completing one zoom session, 80% of participants will be able to demonstrate two cooking skills and prepare one recipe.
- After the six-week program, at least 75% of Delta Gamma women at American University will cook three meals each week, increasing their daily consumption of fruits and vegetables by one cup.
