New York Public Library Cullman Center Fellowship The Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers offers an international fellowship program for individuals whose work benefits from access to the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building’s collections. This includes academics, independent scholars, creative writers (novelists, playwrights, poets), and visual artists with book projects. The Center appoints 15 Fellows annually for a nine-month term, from September to May. Smithsonian Institution Smithsonian Institution Fellloship Program The Smithsonian Institution Fellowship Program offers opportunities for independent research or study related to Smithsonian collections, facilities, and/or research interests of the Institution and its staff. The Huntington Library Long-term fellowships The Huntington offers 13 long-term fellowships for nine to 12 months, each with a $50,000 stipend. While nine fellowships are open to scholars in various fields aligned with The Huntington’s collections, there are specific awards for maritime history (Kemble Fellowship), history of medicine (Molina Fellowship), and history of science (Dibner Fellowship). Three Thom Fellowships are designated for recent postdoctoral scholars. Long-term fellows are required to reside at The Huntington continuously, present at a two-day introductory symposium in September, and participate in weekly working group sessions from October to May. University of Texas Harry Ransom Center Fellowship Program Research conducted by humanities scholars contributes to a dynamic body of knowledge that has the potential to reshape our understanding of archival collections—what is preserved and valued in our communities. National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholars The Public Scholars program provides grants to individual authors for research, writing, travel, and activities aimed at creating and publishing well-researched nonfiction books in the humanities for a general audience. Open Society Foundations Open Society Fellowship The Open Society Fellowship, established in 2008, supports individuals pursuing innovative approaches to fundamental challenges facing open societies. Public Religion Research Institute PRRI Public Fellows This 11 month fellowship includes a stipend, support for a course release during the spring semester, and access to microgrants to support collaborative research. The PRRI fellowship will benefit those who want to shape their work for broader public consumption, receive communications support for placing public-facing work in top-tier media outlets, and integrate quantitative data into their research and teaching. The James McKeen Cattell Fund Cattell Sabbatical Awards For over half a century, the James McKeen Cattell Fund has provided support for the science and the application of psychology. Council of American Overseas Research Centers Multi-County Research Fellowship The Multi-Country Research Fellowship supports U.S. scholars conducting trans-regional and comparative research in countries affiliated with Overseas Research Centers and beyond.
