VP of Member Development on the Panhellenic Executive Council

• I was responsible for programming events which would contribute to enhancing the experience and individual development of a women in the Panhellenic community. These events could be professional development/networking focused, academic, diversity and inclusion based, or whatever the community asked for. My main event which I organized during my term was a panel with three Panhellenic alumna who were professionals in three different fields and they talked about their experience as a women in the workforce and how being in a sorority contributed to their success (via leadership skills, connections, confidence, etc.)
• The council prior was not very cohesive, communicative with the community, or organized so our council inherited a bit of a mess we needed to sort through and there were missing financial numbers we needed to calculate
• The executive council adheres to all of the bureaucracy that any other administrative office at AU would because we have a large budget, have the ability to book rooms during a black out, and organize mass events which utilize many campus resources
• Why?
• Pushed me to apply for numerous positions that I would have otherwise doubted my capabilities for:
• Alpha Xi Delta’s New Member Orientation Director
• Judicial Administrative Intern for Judge Barbara J. Rothstein
• I have become more of an Adaptive leader from this experience; prior to entering my term I had very specific goals for the council outlined including a newsletter, recruitment look book, and ad sales for funding but there were different needs of the community so I needed to learn to not push my agenda and instead listen
