Where Can I Eat On Campus?

Terrace Dining Room (TDR): Monday through Friday 7am-9pm, Saturday/Sunday 9am-9pm

This main dining hall on campus has a variety of food options to choose from. Options range from sandwiches, to grilled food, pizza, pasta, salad, homestyle food and so much more. The menu changes daily so you’ll never get bored. Feeling healthy? Consider visiting the salad bar. You can make your own salad with any toppings you want. Then, head on over to the grill and add some grilled chicken if you want protein!

Einstein Bros: Monday through Friday 7:30am- 2pm

Perfect for breakfast and lunch when you’re in a hurry! Enjoy bagels and sandwiches with any toppings in between. Feeling healthy? Try substituting your everyday egg sandwich with egg whites. You can even consider swapping out your normal bagels for a whole wheat bagel!

Pom & Honey: Monday through Thursday 11am-7pm, Friday 11am-6pm

Perfect for a customized meal, this location serves make your own mediterranean style bowls. You can choose from a grains bowl or greens bowl and add any protein and toppings you want. Feeling Healthy? Choosing a salad bowl and adding protein and a variety of toppings is a great way to get all the nutrients you’ll need for your meal!

District Pickle: Monday through Thursday 11am-6pm, Friday 11am-1pm

A new, small sandwich shop in MGC. This location offers a multitude of kosher options to choose from. Feeling healthy? Consider ordering the mediterranean vegetable wrap or matzo ball soup. Two nutritious options offered on the menu!

Absurd Bird: Monday through Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday 11am-6pm, Sunday 4pm-6pm

Not the healthiest option on campus but still good food! You can enjoy chicken, french fries and more at this location. Feeling healthy? Try out the chicken tenders, and replace your side of fries with a farm stand salad!

Wonk Burger: Monday through Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday 11am-6pm, Sunday 4pm-6pm

Attached to absurd bird you will find burgers! Burgers, french fries and toppings galore can be enjoyed here! Feeling healthy? Try out the grilled sausage with peppers and onions! If you want a burger, consider putting some nutritious toppings on it, such as the grilled mushrooms!

Hissho Sushi/ DC Eats: Monday through Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday 11am-6pm

A perfect place to snack on some sushi and dumplings. Choose from a large selection of sushi rolls! Feeling healthy? You can get a roll made with brown rice. Also make sure that your sushi roll is packed with fish, cucumbers, carrots, avocado and more!

Starbucks: Monday through Friday 7am-12am, Saturday/Sunday 9am-12am

The popular franchise offers coffee, tea, pastries and other food! Feeling healthy? Stay away from the frappuccinos, and if you’re hungry pick up a fruit, cheese stick, or greek yogurt. If you need something with a little more substance try out the reduced-fat turkey bacon sandwich! 

Subway: Monday through Sunday 10:30am-2am

Build your own sandwich at this popular fast food restaurant! Feeling healthy? Choose your own ingredients in your sandwich. Try out the whole wheat bread, get some lean meat as protein, and add on lots of veggies to your sandwich!

Eagles Nest: Monday through Sunday 8:30am-2am

You can come here for your every daily need. Drinks, snacks, candy and even a meal, frozen or pre-made. Feeling healthy? Pick up a P3 Portable Protein Pack. This will give you your daily meats, nuts and fruits!

Create: Monday through Thursday 7:30am-8pm, Friday 7:30am-5pm

A small cafe offering smoothies and smoothie bowls! Feeling healthy? You can substitute the milk in your bowl or smoothies for rice or soy milk!

Campus Coffee and Tea: Sunday through Thursday 12pm-9pm, Friday/Saturday 12pm-5pm

Mainly for coffee or tea but they do offer cookies, brownies, chips, candy and more! Feeling healthy? Put down the candy and pick up a fruit cup. Just as sweet, but a lot more nutritious.

The Bridge: Monday through Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday 8am-6pm, Sunday 10am-8pm 

A student run cafe that offers tasty coffee and breakfast pastries. Feeling healthy? They also offer small pre-made meals, and I heard that the potato cauliflower curry is great!

Davenport Coffee Lounge: Monday through Thursday 8:30am-9pm, Friday 8:30am-5pm

The Dav is also student run and a huge hotspot on campus. There isn’t much food here but still lots of options. Feeling healthy? Pick up some yogurt or fresh fruit to go!

East Campus Store: Monday through Sunday 8:30am-12am

Pretty much the same exact options as the Eagle’s Nest, but across the street! Feeling healthy? Pick up a P3 Portable Protein Pack. This will give you your daily meats, nuts and fruits!

Build Pizza: Monday through Sunday 9:30am-8pm

Located inside the East Campus Store, you can make your own pizza! Feeling healthy? Consider using the scratch wheat pizza dough, and topping it with roasted veggies!

You’re not alone! Did you know that 1 in 3 students at American University reported that money is a barrier to proper nutrition? We have resources to help you out!

A food pantry for American University students, run in partnership with students! This was created to address food insecurity on campus, and is designed to ensure students don’t go hungry or skip meals because of financial reasons. The market is open to any and every student that needs it!

This is located on the backside of Letts Hall, across from the entrance of McCabe hall (where the student health center is). It is in Letts room 2.

7 days a week! 6am-12 pm and 2pm-2 am.
