On March 10, 2020, American University (AU) announced all classes would move fully online, following an extended Spring break through Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. During this emergency transition, the Center for Teaching, Research & Learning (CTRL) and E-Learning Support formed the Instructional Continuity Team to provide workshops, resources, and additional faculty support. This survey was administered at the end of the Spring semester to determine faculty perception of the efforts of the Instructional Continuity Team, and to identify gaps in support moving forwards.
Based on the survey results, we have identified the following set of actions to pursue over the coming months:
1. Offer additional iterations of the CTRL and E-Learning Support Online Instructor Course
2. Provide evidence-based workshops and resources that focus on pedagogy and other best practices for online teaching
3. Provide resources for faculty on the technological tools available (e.g., Zoom)
