Their services include primary medical care, HIV/AIDS prevention, community outreach, substance abuse counseling, support groups as well as mental health and needle exchange services.

La Clínica employs innovative, culturally and linguistically appropriate strategies that break down barriers to accessing health care and eliminates disparities in the health status of the Latino community. The ability to meet a client’s health and social service needs in the language they are most comfortable communicating in and adapting treatments to ensure cultural appropriateness separates La Clínica from other primary health care providers in the area. La Clinica provides their clients clinical, mental health and substance abuse as well as language services.

AHF is the Largest AIDS Service Organization in the world. They just opened the Blair Underwood Center in Washington, DC which services everyone, accepts all insurance (and no insurance) and treats and prescribe medication right there at their pharmacy counter. They offer Free HIV Care, free HIV testing and house D.C. AIDS Drug Assistance Pharmacy (DC ADAP)

Metroteen aids

Metro TeenAIDS provides resources to help young people fight AIDS and support each other. MTA is the only organization in the Washington DC-metro area focusing all of its efforts on the unique prevention, education, and treatment needs of young people. MTA offers OraQuick Advance testing Monday-Friday from 12pm-8pm. They also offer STI screenings for both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia through urine based screening. Pregnancy testing is also offered to those female clients interested. Mobile Unit Testing is their newest addition to the testing program. The target population is youth (13-24) with emphasis on those who reside in wards 5-8. (But ALL are welcome)

Damien Ministries is not just an organization, but a community, of dedicated volunteers and staff to tend to the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of the “poorest of the poor” living with HIV/AIDS. Clients of Damien Ministries are provided with many services which enrich their minds, bodies, and spirits including a food bank, case management, transitional housing, and a retreat program.
