About Me

Currently, as a freshman at American University, I am pursuing a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government (CLEG). I am also in the School of Public Affairs Leadership Program, where I am researching Immigration and Refugee rights. As a first-generation Indian American, I am passionate about immigrant rights and providing safe ways for immigrants to enter the United States. Being able to speak Hindi fluently also gives me a unique advantage to communicate with South Asian immigrants and understand why and how they have come to America. I want to be able to use this skill to be the voice for not only immigrants, but other people who the system has failed. I hope that my growing leadership skills will assist me in preparing to work in the field I am interested in.
