Griffin Diven is currently a sophomore studying International Relations at American University. Griffin is a member of the esteemed Olson Scholar cohort for the 2018-2019 academic year. Griffin will focus his research on Comparative/Global Governance specifically on geopolitical issues dealing with Kosovo. Throughout this process, Griffin expects to be able to understand more of the research process and on the idea of the constitution of a modern state.
In the past, Griffin served as the Student Member of Board of Education in Howard County, Maryland from 2016-2017 advocating for student inclusivity into policies. Griffin has also presented a TEDx Talk on the power of student empowerment in education and has testified in front of the Maryland House of Delegates Ways & Means Committee.
