Hello! My name is Hannah Barrett and I am a sophomore in American University’s School of International Service. I plan to concentrate in Peace, Global Security, & Conflict Resolution as well as National Security & Foreign Policy and a minor in Arabic Language. I first became excited by academic research as a freshman at AU during my experience in a research course which allowed me to conduct primary research on human migration in the European Union during my time abroad in Brussels, Belgium.  For my sophomore research sequence with the Olson Scholars Program, I am interested in conducting research on state-sponsored torture and prisoners of war.
