About Me

Hello! My name is Justin Angelo and I am from Rochester, New York. I am currently an undergraduate at American University where I am pursing a bachelors of arts in political science as well as two certificates from the School of Public Affairs; One in political thought and another in advanced leadership studies.

In Rochester, I got involved with my local community. I was a member of the National Honors Society and participated in volunteering based clubs like Service and Interact Club which I was the President of. When my school district made plans to cut two of the four foreign language classes offered in the Middle and High School, as well as various Advanced Placement courses, I offered my support to the teachers involved and encouraged students to show up at the board meetings to build a movement from the students and parents that showed we were against the cuts to vital academic opportunities which thankfully prevailed. Now, at American University, I am currently working with a group of undergraduates where we explore the refugee process to the United States, how the United States fails refugees, and what we can do to provide greater support systems to the impacted groups.

Currently on campus, I am a member of the AU Pre-Law and Debate Societies, the International Relations Society where I will be staffing AU’s annual Model United Nations Conference, and AU College Democrats where I am positioned as a Fellow under the Executive Director where I plan social events for the organization and undertake other campus or political tasks the organization focuses on. I look forward to working towards building my own connections and engaging with opportunities to invoke change wherever possible.
