OPEN-SOURCE RESEARCH: Conducted legislative research to produce more than 30 analytical reports on various European-related issues using OSINT, including information sent to the European Parliament staff and members. Provided analysis based on the most recent intelligence on the Russian-Ukrainian War, North Africa, and human rights and transnational crime.  

DEFENSE SYSTEMS ANALYSIS: Directly provided analysis to senior committee staff on the effectiveness of European defense systems and programs, and how North Atlantic Treaty Organization functions could be used to strengthen European security. 

LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS: Drafted amendments and written content to be used in Parliamentary opinions and legislation that was brought before the committee used by senior staff and Parliament.

EXECUTIVE SUPPORT: Assisted in the management of the Office of the Secretary, fulfilling requests by senior officials in the Department to execute the agenda of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary, which included assisting in the creation of briefing books, and undertaking local trips to agencies and departments. 

PROTOCOL AND ADVANCE SUPPORT: Managed logistics within the Office of Protocol and Advance to advance more than 20 meetings with international delegations, including one large-scale international justice and homeland security summit between the United States and Europe.

CLIENT CONSULTING: Provided research and advising on client accounts to inform corporate relationships with congressional staff and members through reports on proposed legislation and remarks made by members. More than 30 reports were written on topics related to energy, defense, and international policy. Support was provided on agricultural accounts during the drafting of the farm bill through congressional reporting. 

COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE: Created and managed a weekly news roundup for over 300 corporate clients and individuals that aggregated and analyzed developments in international trade policy. Individualized letters were also tailored to specific client accounts to meet their policy needs as requested.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT: Drafted and delivered subpoenas to witnesses in cases before the office and reviewed legal paperwork before use by Public Defenders. 

LEGAL ANALYSIS: Reviewed evidence from interrogations and examinations, videos, and photos to manufacture legal defenses for those represented by the public defender’s office. 60 percent of cases that saw a conclusion during the tenure of the internship were dismissed or resolved without a trial or plea deal.
