About Me

Hi! My name is Jasmin Edrington. I was born in Burnsville, Minnesota, and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. I attended Resurrection Saint Paul School from kindergarten to 8th grade. Until the summer after 8th grade, my main hobbies included singing, theatre, and anything creative. But after completing my Girl Scout Silver award at a farm animal sanctuary, I became an environmental hippie who wanted to save animals and to preserve the Earth’s beauty and resources. Throughout high school, I dubbed ‘environmental scientist’ as my dream job until I discovered that taking samples in lakes and listening to bird calls was not for me. So, I shifted my dreams onto creating a more sustainable world in urban areas and communicating with other countries to help save the environment.

My major at American University (international relations with a focus on sustainability) will allow me to learn the skills to work with other countries in protecting the environment. I hope to further sustainability efforts at American and eventually the world. The Environmental Protection Agency, Green Peace, The Natural Resources Defense Council, and Conservation International are a few organizations I would like to work for.
